While we encourage participation in politics, we neither promote nor oppose any political party or candidate. We welcome anyone over the age of sixteen to join our local league, which includes membership at the state and national levels.

Candidate Forums

The League of Women Voters Torrance Area hosted several Candidates Forums in April, alongside the Beach Cities and Palos Verdes Peninsula Leagues.

Candidates running in the upcoming June 2nd election for State Senate and Assembly, and Torrance City Council, Mayor, and Treasurer positions, took questions from the audience and shared their thoughts.

These videos are unedited per League policy, except to separate each seat to avoid one big long video.  Mayor and Treasurer Candidates were grouped together because of times limits that night.
